The Objective

The owner of a new private therapy practice, Naterna Therapy Services, contacted me during the initial planning stages of opening her business. While she had originally mentioned needing a website, it became clear that she also wanted me to design a brand and logo to represent her specific therapy niche and services, along with assistance writing content for her website.

It was incredibly important to the owner that visitors to the site were able to clearly understand the specific services she provided. She understood the headspace that potential clients might be in and that they would benefit from a clean design with clear information about what specific services she provided, what her ideology and methods were, and how to contact her.

We worked closely to determine the look, feel, and brand personality she wanted to convey. From there, I was able to create a color scheme, typescale, logo, business cards, images, and illustrations to accurately represent her vision.

Finally, I designed a 6-page website, assisted with content writing and photo retouching, developed the responsive website in WordPress, and set up a Gmail Business account.

The Results

Research and communication were absolutely crucial during this process. Because of her specialization, some visitors to my client’s website should perhaps be seeking emergency services instead. We wanted to be sure that all images, messaging, and layout were as clear and concise as possible.

By the end of the project, my client had far more than the website that she initially asked for. As a new small business owner, there were many pieces she was unaware of or hadn’t considered, including color schemes, a logo, and even a personalized Gmail account.

I was able to create a simple site with the potential for growth in the future (i.e. a blog, additional resource suggestions) and was able to work with her to develop an identity for her brand and business so that she could have business cards made.

Sarah took the time to understand my business plan and develop a custom website that not only addressed the functional aspects of running my business, but also was aesthetically congruent and personalized. She anticipated questions I did not even know I had and was able to guide me step-by-step through the process to attain the end product I was looking for.
